About Us
History
Our story starts way back,
History
Born to be Awesome Initiative was founded in the year 2020 by a group of passionate individuals dedicated to making a difference in their community. What started as a small grassroots movement has grown into a thriving organization with a far-reaching impact. Over the years, we have worked tirelessly to address the challenges faced by women and girls in accessing menstrual health products and education. Our journey has been marked by milestones, from our initial community outreach efforts to the establishment of production centers and advocacy initiatives.
The organization, registered as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) is dedicated to empowering individuals and making a positive impact in our community. Our vision is a society where every woman and girl can embrace her awesomeness without limitations. Today, we are proud to be recognized as a leading voice in the menstrual health and women’s empowerment space, thanks to the unwavering commitment of our team and the support of our partners and supporters.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote women and girls’ empowerment, menstrual health & hygiene, and create a supportive and inclusive environment where women and girls have access to education, resources, and opportunities to reach their full potential in underprivileged communities.
Our Approach
Through innovative initiatives and programs, we aim to inspire, educate, and uplift those in need. Our main focus is on promoting menstrual health and hygiene, with a specific emphasis on empowering women and girls through the production and distribution of reusable sanitary pads.
Why Reusable Pads?
Recognizing the challenges faced by women and girls in accessing affordable and hygienic menstrual products, we provide a sustainable and dignified solution through reusable pads. By leveraging their benefits, we create lasting positive impacts on the lives of women and girls, their communities, and the environment.
Education and Awareness:
We strongly believe in the power of education and awareness. Our comprehensive menstrual health and hygiene education programs aim to break taboos, dispel myths, and provide accurate information about menstrual health, hygiene practices, and the proper use and care of reusable pads.
Community Empowerment:
We are committed to ensuring the sustainability and scalability of our initiatives. By actively collaborating with local communities, stakeholders, and partner organizations, we establish production centers where women are trained in pad-making skills. This approach generates employment opportunities, fosters self-reliance, and promotes economic empowerment among women.
Advocacy and Partnerships:
We advocate for policy changes and partnerships with government agencies and international donors to create an enabling environment for menstrual health initiatives. Through our holistic approach, we aim to achieve interconnected goals: promoting menstrual health and hygiene, suppressing gender-based violence, empowering women and girls, fostering environmental sustainability, and promoting gender equality.
Our Commitment:
With a passionate team of dedicated volunteers, community partners, and supporters, Born to be Awesome Initiative continues to make a positive impact, one reusable pad at a time. Together, we envision a future where menstrual health is prioritized, stigma is eliminated, and every woman and girl can embrace her awesomeness without limitations.
