A Day of Love and Laughter at House of Mercy Children’s Home.

The visit to House of Mercy Children’s Home was a beautiful reminder of the power of love, community, and kindness. Wandering Women, in partnership with Born to be Awesome, had the privilege of spending a memorable day with the children and staff and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and warm smiles.
The atmosphere was filled with joy as we interacted with the children through laughter, games, conversations, and shared moments that created lasting memories. The staff, equally welcoming and supportive, made us feel at home and helped make the day a success.
As part of our outreach, we shared goodies with both the children and the staff, spreading happiness and appreciation. A key focus of the visit was menstrual hygiene and health education. The girls were sensitized on proper menstrual care, body hygiene, and self-confidence, creating a safe space for learning and open discussion.
To ensure sustainability and dignity, the girls were gifted a full year’s supply of sanitary pads, along with panties and essential hygiene items. This support was aimed at empowering them to attend school confidently, stay healthy, and embrace their growth without fear or shame.
The visit ended with grateful hearts on both sides proof that even a single day of compassion can leave a lasting impact. We left House of Mercy inspired by the resilience of the children and encouraged to continue serving and uplifting communities.
Together, Born to Be Awesome and Wandering Women remain committed to nurturing hope, dignity, and empowerment one child, one smile, and one community at a time.
