Empowering All Starlets: Hope, Health, and Talent in Kakamega.

In Kakamega, we had the privilege of reaching the All Starlets team, a unique and inspiring football team made up of teenage girls and teenage mothers who have chosen to rise above their circumstances through talent, discipline, and teamwork. The team is a safe space where the girls channel their energy into soccer, keeping them focused, active, and away from many negative influences present in the outside world.
All Starlets is more than just a football team it is a community of determined young girls who are committed to nurturing their talent despite the challenges they face. Through football, they have found purpose, confidence, and hope for a better future.
During our engagement with the team, we held interactive and open discussions on menstrual hygiene and health, teenage pregnancy, and contraceptives, ensuring the girls received accurate information to help them make informed decisions about their bodies and lives. We also shared practical period hacks for the field, guiding them on how to manage cramps, heavy flow, and hygiene while training and playing match empowering them to stay active even during their menstrual cycles.
To support them further, we distributed sanitary pads, ensuring that lack of menstrual products does not stand in the way of their participation in sports or daily activities. Beyond the physical support, we spoke words of encouragement, reminding the girls that their dreams are valid, their past does not define their future, and their talent has the power to open doors.
The smiles, confidence, and renewed hope we witnessed reaffirmed the importance of creating safe spaces like All Starlets. When girls are given the right support, information, and encouragement, they thrive on the field and in life.

# Empowered girls. Strong teams. Brighter futures!
