At Kimana Mixed Secondary School, Day 2 was filled with joy, learning, and hope as we spent time with the students during a wonderful session on menstrual hygiene and health. The atmosphere was warm and interactive, with both girls and boys actively participating in the discussions. It was especially encouraging to see the boys confidently answering questions and engaging in conversations that help break the stigma around menstruation. Their involvement showed that creating awareness among both genders is key to building a supportive and informed community.
During the visit, we distributed sanitary pads, panties, boxers, and water filters to support the students’ health and wellbeing. Smiles filled the room as the students received the supplies with gratitude and excitement. One of the highlights of the day was the donation of computers to the school, made possible through Samantha’s friend. The computers will greatly improve ICT learning opportunities for the students and open doors for a brighter future.
The day was truly memorable, filled with meaningful conversations, laughter, and moments of encouragement. Seeing the happiness, confidence, and hope among the students reminded us why such outreach programs are important in transforming lives and empowering the next generation.
