On March 15, 2024, the Born to Be Awesome Initiative proudly joined hands with partners to host a remarkable event in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event, held at Langata Road Primary and Junior Secondary School in Nairobi, brought together women from diverse backgrounds to honor their strength, resilience, and achievements under the theme of “Inspire Inclusion.”
The event encompassed a dynamic women’s tournament alongside insightful expert talks, with partnering organizations including AMREF International University, Nairobi West Prisons, Network for Adolescents and Youth of Africa (NAYA), Centre for Citizen Empowerment Program (CCEP), Eco Bank, and Equity Bank. Each partner brought a unique perspective to the table, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity.
Among the participating teams were representatives from AMREF International University, Kibera Women Entrepreneurs, Kibera Young Mothers Organization, and Nairobi West Prisons, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of women’s talents and aspirations.
A highlight of the event was the engaging talk on women hygiene, delivered by Ms. Jemimah Nyarondia, the founder of the Born to Be Awesome Initiative. Ms. Nyarondia addressed key aspects of women hygiene, including menstrual health, emphasizing the importance of access to education and resources for all women, especially those in marginalized and underprivileged communities.
The event underscored the Born to Be Awesome Initiative‘s unwavering commitment to collaboration and community engagement in promoting women empowerment and hygiene. By inspiring inclusion and fostering a sense of belonging, the initiative continues to champion positive change and uplift the lives of women and girls across the region.
